Accounting Inventory Associate


Under limited supervision, the Inventory Analyst is responsible for providing extended analysis of Inventory processes and transactions, and promoting accurate and timely completion of the department’s responsibilities. They act in liaison between the Inventory department and different business units to review current processes and identify new opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in detailed process trouble shooting and improvement
  • Manage continuous improvement projects utilizing CROPP’s methodologies and Inventory processes
  • Identify and help resolve critical issues
  • Actively work with Inventory and other departments on understanding all processes relating to tracking the flow of inventory
  • Responsible for reconciliation of inventory on a scheduled plan
  • Responsible for completing transfers, issues and receipts of inventory in an ERP system as assigned
  • Responsible for confirming accuracy of transactions and completion on a timely basis
  • Responsible for maintaining inventories on a time sensitive basis to provide the most accurate information to CFO and other departments

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in special projects as required
  • Participate in physical inventory counts as required
  • Generate general ledger entries pertaining to inventory as deemed necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of one to two year accounting degree from a technical college plus one to two years relevant experience in an inventory related area
  • APICS certification a plus
  • Knowledge of a computerized accounting/inventory package such as an ERP and/or WMS system a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to accept additional work responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels and functions of the cooperative
  • Organized with attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work weekends and after business hours as needed
  • Knowledge of the dairy industry a plus
  • Knowledge of current CROPP business structure a plus
