Why did you decide to come to work at CROPP?
I loved that the company was young and still growing and there were opportunities to use my science background.
How long have you been with CROPP?
Since May 2005
Why do you like working at CROPP?
Culture is great! I feel like I’m making a difference in the lives of family farmers. I also get a kick out of seeing our products on the shelves, both far and near. I think it’s helped me become a better consumer and understand food products more.
What has been the best experience or day you’ve had at CROPP thus far?
The first time I got to travel for work to visit one of our milk co-packers—it was a great feeling!
What’s your favorite perk/benefit?
Free milk, cheese, bread, and meat for lunches! You’ll never go hungry here! (Although, you may gain the “freshman” 15!)
What’s your favorite Organic Valley or Organic Prairie product?
Chocolate milk and OJ—no doubt!
Describe your typical workday at CROPP:
Answer lots of emails. Help Consumer Relations with quality questions. Synthesize and analyze testing data, and put into reports for management. Gather information to help solve the always-occurring crisis!
Describe your commute:
Long—40 minutes and over Wildcat Mountain. Although it can also be relaxing, and once home, I’m ready to hit the ground running again!
What other types of jobs have you held?
Mostly academia—was the lab manager for a small research lab at UW-Stout, Masters student at UW-La Crosse, and a summer intern for the QA department at Nestlé’s Nutritional Division in Eau Claire, WI.
What are your other interests or hobbies?
Right now I’m mostly busy taking care of my 2-yr old daughter, and preparing for #2, who is due in May. Other than that, when I have time, I like to scrapbook, take walks and travel. My husband loves to golf—I just drive the golf cart!
