Why did you decide to come to work at CROPP?
After 13 years in corporate America I was tired of companies thinking you get more out of employees by working them longer, upwards of 60-80 hours a week. Employees who are autonomous, empowered, creative, and not overworked are always going to be more productive and engaged.
How long have you been with CROPP?
Since September of 2012.
Why do you like working at CROPP?
CROPP embodies and understands how to build and maintain a creative and engaged employee base. The autonomy here is wonderful, yet backed up and supportive by the cooperative business model. This has been the best place I have ever worked. I feel privileged to have the opportunity.
What has been the best experience or day you've had at CROPP thus far?
The Friday of my third week here at CROPP. Looking back at my first 3 weeks with CROPP I wasn't stressed out by the hours, I loved all the people I had met, the lunches were out of this world, and the responsibilities I had were totally engaging. I just realized that everything I thought CROPP stood for was really true and real. CROPP really walks the talk and is completely mission driven. A great day, a great feeling, I slept well.
What's your favorite perk/benefit?
The relaxed dress code.
What's your favorite Organic Valley or Organic Prairie product?
OV's Baby Swiss and OP's bacon!
Describe your typical workday at CROPP:
Usually start around 7:30am checking in with staff and emails making sure all facilities are in good shape and ready to support the best work force in WI! Then transition through daily projects and meetings with internal customers and contractors. Finish the day with a little more email and phone calls and get excited about working on the next big thing!
Describe your commute:25 of the most winding, up and down, beautiful miles through Vernon County starting west of Viroqua and into La Farge
What other types of jobs have you held?
Mostly general management, regional management of large corporate facility services companies, including traveling all over the US for 4 of my 13 years in corporate America.
What are your other interests or hobbies?
Anything outside, woodworking, triathlons, spending time with my family.
