Eric Newman has been involved with Organic Foods sales and marketing for over 30 years. An advocate for small farmers, he was the President of the Southwest Montana Chapter of the Organic Crop Improvement Association (OCIA) for seven years, and worked with the Alternative Energy Resources Organization (AERO) during this time. In addition, he has served on the Organic Trade Association (OTA) as co-chair of the fundraising committee, and conducted trainings on organic agriculture for the Provender Alliance and for New Hope Communications at the Natural Product Expos East and West.
Eric began his career in the restaurant business in 1974 and, until 1989, actively managed two restaurants in La Jolla, California, and ultimately owned two operations in Montana. His work has included management positions as Director of Procurement for the Missoula School District #1 school lunch program, seven years with a Natural Foods Retail Cooperative in Bozeman Montana, and an Organic feed and forage sales manager for Jersey Pride, Inc.
Eric has worked for CROPP Cooperative as Vice President, Sales, for the past sixteen years, responsible for global sales. Eric serves on the Board of Organic Logistics, LLC, CROPP Cooperative’s logistics arm, and is a member of the Cooperative’s executive management team.
Eric resides in Viroqua, Wisconsin with his youngest son, Will, who is a junior in High School. Eric’s eldest son, Nicolas, attends Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana, where he majors in architecture. Eric is passionate about food and cooking, and he enjoys hiking, biking and kayaking in Wisconsin’s Driftless region.
