Organic Valley Food Gifts

Every year, food banks provide much needed sustenance to millions of people. Organizations like Feeding America (formerly American’s Second Harvest) operate almost like a cooperative in the sense that they have over 200 member banks across the country, which then distribute the collected goods to local food pantries and shelters.

Feeding America’s members supply more than 2 billion pounds of food annually to Americans, and it’s all as a result of charitable donations from corporations, small businesses, and individuals. In 2008, Organic Valley donated over $1 million in products to Feeding America food banks among others.

Organic Valley product donations to Food Banks/Pantries:

  • 2009 YTD food donations: More than $550,000
  • 2008: More than $1 million in food donations

Top Beneficiaries:

  • Feed the Children (based in Oklahoma City, OK)
  • Feeding America – Chicago (formerly Second Harvest Food Bank)
