Dan,
Living in the confines of a big city (in terms of being big enough by my standards) one rarely sees your side of the world. Of course, we are living in the same world together, but I feel that those stuck inside of our culture's cages live in a vastly different world than folks of your courage. It takes only our most basic human whim to understand at an early age that maybe the way the majority of people live on this earth could use some healthy change. The first step to this change is most definitely in your direction. I wonder how you feel on the possibility of regional mindset changes towards a truer and much healthier (for ourselves, all other creatures, and this planet) life. I believe firmly that we are all aching to escape the school-work-retire to Florida-die cycle that plagues us. I hope you stay warm this winter, although I'm sure you have an agreement with the cold, and that you share your thoughts with me both through your writings and directly. If you have the time, I'd certainly appreciate a man with vision's opinion on some hopefully societal changes for the better.
Dear Robert
Not only do I have the time to write to you, it’s a priority to answer your most intuitive question. It’s not often I hear from someone who realizes where the troubles of the world truly begin. You hit the nail on the head when you said “understand at an early age.” I’ve had a lifetime to learn, not just who can turn the planet into a healthy place to live but I’ve learned HOW to do it. I hope your questions are many and you find the natural logic in my answers.
Changes will have to come about eventually, drastic changes, not only in the region but around the world. The problem is, there isn’t the time to simply let these changes develop, so we must act now to save the future. We are responsible for that future.
I think you would agree that the opinions and questions from others would only stimulate a rapid growth in our learning process. A “Natural forum” of sorts may certainly trigger the minds of those who really want to know the answers.
Naturally yours,
Dan
