Another wonderful beginning for my day

Thanks again for another wonderful beginning for my day. We have Downy Woodpeckers here as well, but some of them are drawn irresistably to the corner boards of my wood-sided house. No one I've discussed this with over the last fifteen years has any idea of how to discourage them from doing quite shocking damage...some of the holes they've made have been three inches wide and right through the inch-thick barnboard.Any ideas??Best regards,Beth
