Dear Dan,My husband and I were driving in a small town just south of Madison (McFarland). We happened to notice a large bird flying above us when we pulled into a restaurant. I said to my husband, "doesn't that look like a bald eagle?" He had to get out and look to make sure we were not just seeing things. This was the first time we ever saw one and were not sure they came this far inland to Madison. We always thought of those beautiful birds to be more along the Mississippi River or up along the Wisconsin River. As we both watched this graceful bird fly along catching the wind, we could not help ourselves but to look like a couple of avid bird watchers observing our Bald Eagle. I felt as though we were the only ones to have caught this magnificent sight. No one else around us stopped to look or wonder what we were looking at. We will definitely be looking up in the sky more often when in that area. We shared this excitement with our kids as we are all avid bird watchers at home with all our feeders and suets we have out front. We are members of Project Feeder Watch and have been enjoying the different birds species that have visited our feeders. Thank you for all your letters every week. Sincerely,Ann
