canna lilies

Hey Dan I love your nature newsletters. I really look forward to each one. This last news letter you commented that your canna lilies are poking up from the ground. Do you dig them up each fall and plant them again in the spring? The Minnesota gardener's extension expert lady at the Winona county fair said canna lilies will not survive the winter here and one must dig them up and store them for the winter. I live in the town of Winona and have planted them in my yard. Will you share your experience with canne lilies with me. I would love to not dig them up if they have a chance to survive our winters.
