Milwaukee, WI

I just want you to know that I absolutely LOVE your "Down Nature's Trail" article.  I feel like I am sitting at your bird feeder smelling the air and enjoying the sights and sounds of the morning.  I grew up in Neenah, WI on Lake Winnebago and now live in Milwaukee.  I miss that part of my life and just being able to enjoy the wonder of nature without a car horn or the rumble of a bus.  The closest I get to that now is observing raccoon family using my second level deck as a highway to the ground below.  Thank you for observations and for your insight on nature.  I hope you are a father and are able to share such great virtues with a second generation.  Take care and keep writing!

Dear Heidi,

I’m so delighted that you enjoyed my column enough to respond.  Even though you miss having Nature so close, you are still aware how important it is in your life and are able to find it where it exists.  If you truly love the natural world, it will return to your life if you allow it to.

Yes, children are the answer to saving what remains of Nature.  This father & grandfather knows this and passes on on the lessons from Mother Earth.

Naturally yours,

Dan
