For the holiday weekend I drove from the Washington DC area south to the Virginia/North Carolina border. The scenery was beautiful, especially the sunset as I traveled back north. Along the way I became very concerned for all the slain animals on the roadside. Will the death of these animals be in vain? The fact that wild scavengers venture out to consume these animals is comforting, in that the circle of life continues, but very disturbing because now these scavengers are risking their lives. I am still coming to terms with this, but I now see a positive aspect.Thank you very much and enjoy the beginning of winter!Becky Proctor
