loving nature

South Haven, MI

I just finished reading your thoughts in "Rabbits". I couldn't agree with you more. Although I live on a somewhat small parcel of land, twenty acres, I feel privileged to be surrounded by nature. I have a path mowed back into the woods and walk it daily with my dogs. There are deer, turkeys, fox, more birds than I could name, and of course rabbits. Rabbits, rabbits everywhere !! In the fields and the yard. Before my husband died he built a big, beautiful, light and airy room loaded with windows. Outside I have a multitude of bird feeders and a bird bath, summer and winter. Your description of the young birds still waiting to be fed by mama was so like what I enjoy. Just prior to reading your article, I had been to Lake Michigan where I took my dog swimming as I watched the sun sink into the lake. What a beautiful sight. I feel so blessed. While I enjoy going to the theater, out to dinner, to concerts, etc., nothing could ever compare to the sights provided to us in nature. We simply have to recognize they are there for us to enjoy, and take advantage of it. If I am having a tough day, I MAKE myself go out into nature. It surely puts everything into perspective. ThanksClee
