Thank you for the amazing story about bluebirds. I appreciate the fact that you took time to anwer my email with such an interesting story. What a project! I can only imagine the effort it took to build, hang, and maintain 300 bird houses. How sad, but interesting that only a pair was found. Glad to hear that they are now reemerging in the area. I live close to the city of New Orleans, for now, and we do not see any here, but my sister lives in Kentwood on a farm and we spot them from time to time. My mother passed over 8 years ago and the bluebird appeared to us shortly after. It was from then on, significant to my family.
I recently splurged and bought "Birds of North America" a book put out by the American Museum of Natural History. It has over 700 pages of illustrations and information. I hope this will broaden my knowledge as well as reading your newsletters.
I graduated from high school in 1970 and am just attending college for the first time. This is the area that I am still searching in. I am trying to find my calling. A little late in life to shift careers but I know it will be in nature and animal welfare. I also wanted to say that the words you wrote back to me "to get inside, you have to go outside" inspired me, made me pause......and think. You are absolutely right. I have been so focused on school that I stay glued to the computer and my studies more than I should. I need to get back outside, perhaps clear my thoughts and listen!
I hope your Spring will be wonderful. It is Spring down here already, it stays green year round here. Once again, thank you for taking the time to respond. I look forward to many newsletters, photos, and art work of the changing seasons that you witness. I am a part time nature photographer, so I appreciate seeing different species and countryside. I wish you had a book of all your drawings that we could purchase.
Sincerely, Fay
