Thank you for the joy I received as I read your account of Spring arriving in Wisconsin. I spent the majority of my life in that state so I like to consider it my home state. For a little perspective, I now reside in mid-Florida.
And oh, how I miss being in Wisconsin. Even in the 'mid-west' area there is no other state like it.
My daughter & I are particularly fond of lilacs so your description of their getting ready to come into bud brought a picture in my mind of them. We have crepe myrtles here that I call my Florida lilacs but, of course, they do not have that delicious aroma.
I also enjoyed your descriptions of the birds that appear in your area—and what & why you feed them differently at different times of the year. That is most helpful information—quick and easy for those of who do not take the time to study such things.
And the wildflowers, which I love dearly. When I lived in Illinois as a child we would find wild violets growing along the wayside.
So thank you. I'm so glad I found your site.
