The Raven

In your latest letter, you stated that there are four songbirds with a repetoire of varied calls and songs. I can think of another - the raven. They often mimic other sounds and birdsong. We have many of them here, in Arizona, and a pair has nested year after year on the platform of one of the football field lights. This pole is high above the high school football field, but almost at eye level from the parking lot of our grade school on the hill above. A pair of binoculars brings them in close, and egg laying, hatching, feeding and fledging can be observed. The pair sucessfully hatched out three young ones this year.I wish you'd do an article on ravens.
