Hi Dan! I so enjoy reading your "Down Nature's Trail!" I was raised in the country and while I work a full time office job my heart is always outdoors. I love to read your column as it takes my mind away from my desk for a minute to the beauty of nature and what really matters. In today's column you mentioned pulling weeds. I was wondering if you can answer a question for me. I planted a large bed of zinnia seeds that are now small plants. At the same time we planted grass seeds throughout our new yard. I did not put a pre-emergent like preen or anything in my flower bed. I now have grass, not weeds, as tall as my small zinnia plants! I can not wade in to pull the grass without stepping all over my zinnias and of course I can't spray any weed/grass killer with everything so close together. What would you do in this situation? Do you have any advise for me? Thanks for your time and thanks for all your sharing and love of nature!
