which road?

I read and follow the processes of organic gardening for herbs, tomatoes, peppers, for eating as well as homemade lotions, shampoos, bath bombs, etc.  I have considered going to OSU Horticulture/Agriculture for a degree in this field for an in-depth knowledge, to support a career/personal business doing what I love giving back to the earth what we use a "Naturalist" says what I feel. Did you acquire a formal education to support your passion? My goal is to grow, sell, donate, educate "balance" on earth, when my husband retires in 10 years, am I headed in the right direction?
