Unidentified birds

I've seen two birds in the last two weeks that I couldn't find in the bird book. One was similar to a redwinged blackbird but smaller - all black with orangey-red on the wings. The other, the best I can describe, was like an albino downy woodpecker. About the same size; but very pale gray. I only got a quick glimpse of it. I was going to put sunflower seed in the feeder and he was sitting on the feeder and took off when I got close.

Is there anyplace on-line that I can type in a description and find pictures of birds to try to identify? Thanks for any help you can give.
