Why Breakfast?

Parents have long known the value of a good, wholesome breakfast. Now research backs this common sense:

• Numerous studies suggest consumption of a healthy breakfast is a winning strategy to promote healthy eating and a healthy body mass index (BMI).(1)

• Many studies have documented the connection between eating breakfast and optimal work, athletic, and academic performance.(2)

• A 2008 study is touts the benefit of the “Big Breakfast Diet.” which proposes that “To lose weight and keep it off, eat a big breakfast packed with carbohydrates and protein, then follow a low-carb, low-calorie diet the rest of the day.”(3)
