In 2009, Organic Valley’s farmer-owners, who like all farmers are facing the deepest and longest recession in more than 50 years, demonstrated once again the strength and resilience of the cooperative business model that has made Organic Valley a brand trusted by consumers and retail partners alike.

In a measure designed to provide a stable price and secure market for its organic feed, Farmer Direct Co-operative Ltd., of Regina, Canada, has joined Organic Valley Family of Farm's Grower Pool. A co-operative of more than 1,400 family farmers in North America, Organic Valley formed its Grower Pool last year to provide stable prices for organic feed producers and to ensure a supply of organic grain for its member farmers. read more…

Organic Valley Family of Farms, the nation's largest cooperative of organic farmers, will donate 1,200 cases of its 8-ounce single serve organic milk to Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin today. The donation will feed more than 28,000 at-risk people in southwestern Wisconsin. Second Harvest acquires and distributes food to more than 400 charitable food programs working to end hunger at the neighborhood and community levels in 16 southwestern Wisconsin counties. read more…
