The "Champagne of Butters" Comes in Foil-Wrapped Bars

Organic Valley Family of Farms, one of the nation's leading organic brands, today announced the re-launch of its European Style Cultured Organic Butter. This "Champagne of Butters" features a luxurious 84 percent butterfat and a live culture that gives the butter its delectable taste. It is available in eight-ounce gold foil-wrapped bars.

"Consumers crave the Old World flavor of our European Style Cultured Organic Butter," explained Louise Hemstead, Organic Valley's Chief Operations Officer. "Unlike most domestic butter, Organic Valley's cultured butter is made by adding a live culture to fresh organic cream, and allowing it to slowly ripen before churning the cream into butter. This time-honored European process enhances the inherent butter flavor, giving it its exquisite fragrance and superior tart flavor and making the butter easier to digest."

Professional bakers prize Organic Valley European-Style butter for its rich cultured body and high butterfat—perfect for flaky pastry! Both professional chefs and at-home cooks find it ideal for sautéing and searing as well as baking. Its low moisture content means less spattering than with other butters.

Unsalted, the butter's taste is rich with a hint of tang, a true "connoisseur's choice." Chefs rank Organic Valley's European Style Cultured Butter among the best in the world because it is made from the milk of grass-fed cows. As with butter made in France and other European countries, one can almost taste the pasture in this cultured organic butter.

Organic Valley butter is produced organically, without the use of synthetic pesticides, hormones, or antibiotics. Organic Valley cooperative farmers pasture their cows whenever weather permits. They believe that grass pasturing is the best possible management for the health of the cows, the soil, our natural resources and the milk's quality.

Organic Valley's European Style Cultured Organic Butter will be available nationally beginning this month. Its suggested retail price is $3.49-$3.99 per 8-ounce bar.
