Hot or iced, French press or drip, Colombian or Kenyan–each coffee lover has a particular way of preparing his or her morning ritual. Now, Organic Valley, the nation’s largest organic farmer-owned cooperative, is stirring up something new to make that everyday necessity even more of a deserved daily treat: the perfect cuppa joe meets its match with rich, flavored, organic creamers that are as farm-fresh as they are delicious.

Organic Valley is expanding its line of top-selling organic half-and-half with the addition of French Vanilla and Hazelnut flavored dairy creamers. For soy lovers, Organic Valley is also introducing a new line of certified organic soy creamers, available in Original and Vanilla flavors and the only certified organic soy creamers available on the market.

According the Organic Trade Association (OTA) and the Organic Coffee Collaborative, the North American organic coffee market topped 1.4 billion dollars in 2009. In Daniele Giovannucci’s June 2010 report for OTA, the organic coffee industry’s average annual growth rate of 21 percent in the past five years dwarfs the estimated one percent annual growth of the conventional coffee industry. Additionally, according to SPINS and Mintel 2009, nearly 31% of all coffee consumers prefer flavorings in their coffee. Simply put: consumers demand organic coffee and yearn for organic flavored creamer to stir in it.

Like Organic Valley’s original half-and-half, the two new flavored dairy creamers deliver a rich combination of organic cream and whole milk, which comes from pastured cows on family farms, produced without the use of antibiotics, synthetic hormones or pesticides. With immense care and culinary attention, the flavored creamers are made with organic hazelnut and organic, fair trade vanilla, and sweetened with only fair trade unrefined sugar. The organic soy used to blend the new non-dairy creamers is produced from soybeans grown in the Midwest by organic soy farmer- owners of Organic Valley. Coffee lovers can sip confidently knowing that all Organic Valley creamers–dairy and non-dairy–are completely free of artificial colors and flavors, preservatives, high fructose corn syrupand hydrogenated oils.

“When you think of creamer, naturally you think of coffee,” said Tripp Hughes, director of category management for Organic Valley. “Today, coffee lovers are very particular about their coffee, and have a host of choices to make before they even take their first sip. Fair Trade? Organic? Dark Roast? Latte? With the increasing availability of organic and demand for rich flavorings, why would consumers settle on a creamer that doesn’t match our high standards for coffee?”

A splash of Organic Valley Hazelnut creamer, made with certified organic hazelnut extract, delivers a subtle earthy essence of toasted hazelnut. And a subtly sweet cloud of flavor glides onto the taste buds with each sip of coffee or tea swirled with Organic Valley’s French Vanilla creamer, available in dairy and soy varieties.

Organic Valley’s creamers can also be used in other breakfast treats, such as atop oatmeal or in French toast, as well as in baking and any other application for which sweet cream is called.
