Shredded cheese may be tasty. Sliced cheese is delightful. String cheese is joyful. But cheese by the pound is pure pleasure. Organic Valley is introducing its highly popular and award-winning certified organic pasteurized Mild Cheddar in 2 lb. packages.

The Organic Valley Mild Cheddar recently took fourth place at the 2007 U.S. Cheese Championship. And, Organic Valley cheese has won 12 national and international taste awards since 1996. The cooperative was the first to introduce organic cheese, 20 years ago this year.

Organic Valley's Mild Cheddar—a naturally white cheddar—is also available in 8 oz. blocks, shredded or sliced in 6 oz. resealable packages, and in 6 oz. packages of six individually-wrapped 1 oz. Stringles Cheese Sticks.

"Cheese is the fastest growing organic dairy category in the grocery channel," said John Marin, commercial division sales manager for Organic Valley. "It's been estimated that the organic cheese market will grow by 96 percent by 2010.

Marin added the 2 lb. cheese will be available 12 packs per case. "Of course, this size is perfect for delis and restaurants, as well," he noted.

The farmers who cooperatively own Organic Valley produce milk for their award-winning cheese using sustainable practices, and without the use of antibiotics, synthetic hormones or pesticides. Unlike most cheese available, all of Organic Valley cheese is made from Grade-A organic milk. Their cows are fed certified organic feed and graze regularly on certified organic pastures.
