Position:

California Dairy Pool Coordinator

Description:

This position is responsible for coordinating membership and milk supply for the dairy pool member-owners in California.

Duties:

• Act as milk handler contact for regulatory agencies in state of California.
• Maintain regional office to coordinate all milk handler obligations.
• Main contact for member-owners in California in pool.
• Troubleshoot and interpret results for milk quality concerns.
• Coordinate with lab & haulers for producer-request tests and reporting of results.
• Update membership changes for payroll, regulatory requirements.
• Follow up on rejected & distressed loads.
• Procurement coordination of potential member-owners.
• Main contact for contract milk haulers for day-to-day concerns.
• Oversee milk truck sanitation & raw milk sample transportation.
• Coordinate conventional & distressed raw milk sales.
• Develop and maintain relationships for conventional sales of raw milk loads.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of organic farming required.
• Knowledge of milking equipment and dairy farm sanitation and regulatory issues.
• Knowledge of milk hauling and routing structures required.
• Post high school education or equivalent experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to travel to producer locations in California (Petaluma, Modesto, Orland).
