Position:

Packaging Technician

Description:

The Packaging Technician will be responsible for assisting in the research of environmental friendly packaging “Green Packaging”, packaging cost savings and helping with packaging changes at plants.  This position will also support the Research & Development department in all packaging related projects. 

Duties:

o       Provide assistance in researching and reporting back to Packaging Group on new and improved environmental friendly packaging. o       Provide assistance in research of new product packaging. o       Provide assistance in research of cost savings for current packaging. o       Provide assistance in running reports in ERP system and creating spreadsheets with this information for projects. o       Update and maintain spreadsheets for weekly contact with plants on leakers. o       Maintain the packaging library with the up-to-date packaging samples and archive. o       Work with our plants when needed to obtain necessary information. o       Responsible for sending documents to vendors and plants via UPS campus ship. o       Assist in the daily requests for information from our department, which include researching state and federal regulations to make sure we stay compliant. o       Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

o       Associates deree preferred. o       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook. o       Organic Valley and Organic Prairie product knowledge is preferred. o       ERP knowlege is preferred. o       Strong written and verbal communication skills required. o       Organizational skills essential. o       Other Ability to work with limited supervision. o       Work Ability to handle multiple tasks.
