Organic Valley Egg Whites provide a great taste lovers of certified organic eggs will enjoy, while offering a fat and cholesterol-free dietary alternative. One egg contains about one tablespoon of egg yolk and two tablespoons of egg white and weighs about two ounces without the shell. To convert for baking, 3.3 tablespoons replaces 1 egg. The white of the egg is almost pure protein, and is widely considered to be the most bioavailable and digestible source of protein. Organic Valley Egg Whites can be used in salad dressing and protein drinks, as well as in omelets, scrambled eggs, and in baking.

Can this product be used in 7 minute frosting in place of raw eggwhites? Will it still fluff up?

I just saw this product at my Woodman's Market in Rockford, Illinois. I will stock up on this to add it to my body building protein shakes I make in the blender after I work out. Another great product by Organic Valley.

can the egg whites be frozen?

Hi Mike, While we don't usually recommend freezing any of our products, the egg whites freeze quite well. One way is to portion them into ice cube trays and place them into a freezer bag after they are frozen. For defrosting, place the frozen cubes in the refrigerator overnight and they'll be ready in the morning.

I bought a carton of your pasteurized egg whites. The expiration date on the carton is March 2011.

I opened them one week ago. How long can I safely keep them after I have opened the carton?

Hi Ginny, We recommend consuming our egg whites within 5 days of opening for best quality. They may be good for several days after that, kept properly refrigerated. Unopened, the egg whites are guaranteed until the expiration date.
