Don't mind the corn starch so much but the milk! I can tolerate some sour cream but not yours. Why not just make a whole milk sour cream that doesn't require additives?
Larissa from Philadelphia on April 8th, 2011
What I would like to know is how is your cream processed? Pasteurized or ultra-pasteurized? I am highly against ultra-pasteurization as I am sure you are aware that this greatly damages the nutritive properties of milk and cream.

I'm with everyone else on the corn starch issue. If you are going to call yourself Organic Valley, it would be wonderful to know that your products are produced with as little "processing" as possible, and no additives of any sort. For people seriously devoted to diets of whole, real foods and sustainable, eco-friendly practices, such as myself, it's not easy to find foods like this, but you would certainly find a growing market for them.

WHY CAN'T YOU DO IT LIKE DAISY AND JUST USE CULTURED CREAM AND NOTHING ELSE...BUT ORGANIC OF COURSE!! I LOVE OV, BUT REFUSE TO BUY THE SOUR CREAM BECAUSE OF THE ADDED CORN STARCH, NOT TO MENTION THE ADDED BIFIDUS!! OV IS SUCH A VALUABLE COMPANY--I HATE TO SEE IT RUIN A PERFECTLY GOOD PRODUCT BY ADDING UNNECESSARY INGREDIENTS! WHY???

Hi Willow, Organic Valley Sour Cream is formulated with the finest ingredients. Cream is just one of the ingredients in the recipe to create a superior flavor profile. In this case, the amount of cream is not a factor regarding the texture/makeup of sour cream. Texture/makeup can result from a variety of factors, including the types of cultures used or added ingredients. Different cultures also offer different benefits. We add Acidophilus and Bifidus to our sour cream (and our yogurt,) to give it live active cultures or "probiotics."  These are considered to have health benefits.
We add non-GMO cornstarch to our Organic Valley sour cream as a thickening agent. We are actively working to eliminate cornstarch from our sour cream, while maintaining the same superior flavor profile.

I also would be buying this product if it weren't for the cornstarch and the milk.
Ben from WA on January 16th, 2011
We would also like to see this product without cornstarch. If your going to be organic why not be more natural as well.

All dairy are very difficult to buy. We need assurance that the product is gluten free.

When the product is not labeled as gluten free, we are very leery!
Hana from Austin, Texas on December 10th, 2010
Would buy this product if it did not contain corn starch.

Hana, Our cornstarch is made from non-GMO corn and is used to create a thick consistency. Organic Valley is actively working to completely eliminate cornstarch from our sour cream. We'll keep you posted right here on our progress!

Sadly, this sour cream is unuseable. Between the non-fat milk (solids) raising the lactose and the cornstarch thickener, not to mention added bifidus -- organic is less safe than non-organic. What happened to plain old-fashioned cultured sour cream?

I was a die-hard Daisy girl, but after tasting this sour cream it was bye-bye Daisy!! Yummy!
Millie from Ohio on May 6th, 2010
Wish this did not have corn starch in it. I prefer Organic Valley products over other choices but I'm unable to use this sour cream.
