Super fun for an afterschool snack attack, just cut up some dunking material (fresh fruit, mini rice cakes, pretzels, etc.) and let the kids loose!
Fetch the ingredients from the fridge and cupboards. Find the measuring cups and spoons, and mixing bowl.
Measure and mix all ingredients until smooth and creamy. Taste it (with a clean spoon, please).
Cover and chill for one hour. Serve with toothpicks and a variety of fruits: apples, pears, grapes, oranges, banana chunks, etc...
The intention of "Kids in the Kitchen" is to allow children time to find their own rhythm in the kitchen, get a chance to nourish the family, and to experience food on a creative-root level. As parents, we can nurture our children's connection with food by empowering them to experience the complete process of creating a recipe, including the clean up! When a child creates a masterpiece in the kitchen and everyone raves, the child's eyes will brighten and giggles will leak.
