One hundred percent real maple syrup and pasture-pure dairy products share company in this elemental indulgence. If you’d like to gild the lily, fold toasted, chopped hickory nuts or pecans into the ice cream five minutes before it’s done churning. And then, see if you can resist eating some straight from the ice cream canister. Bet you can’t.
1. Freeze/prepare the inner canister of an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s directions.
2. Stir all ingredients until well combined. Chill the mixture thoroughly.
3. Follow the manufacturer’s directions to churn the chilled mixture in an electric ice cream maker—it will take 15-20 minutes to turn into ice cream. Enjoy it right after churning as a soft-serve ice cream. Or, transfer it to an air-tight container and place it in the freezer for 2 or more hours to harden before serving.
