You know that oatmeal is nutritious, but did you know that it could be luscious, too? Build a righteous breakfast by cooking oats with any of the following from Organic Valley: French Vanilla Half & Half; French Vanilla Non-Dairy Soy Creamer; Hazelnut Half & Half; Original Non-Dairy Soy Creamer; or regular Half & Half. Add dried fruit (raisins, dried cherries, dried pears, dried peaches, etc.) as it simmers, then top off each bowl with yogurt, maple syrup and your favorite type of toasted nuts. Oatmeal never had it so good.
1. Combine oatmeal, water, half & half (or soy creamer), and dried fruit in a heavy saucepan. Bring to simmer over medium-high flame. Reduce heat to medium-low, give the mixture a stir, cover it and let it cook until the liquid is absorbed, 4-5 minutes. Turn off heat and let oatmeal stand for 1-2 minutes longer.
2. Serve oatmeal topped with yogurt, maple syrup and toasted nuts.
