Grinding fresh, organic spices makes a stand-out difference in flavor, especially in holiday eggnog, where the spices play an integral role. The same goes for the milk, cream and eggs, of course!
To make an alcohol-free batch of this recipe, substitute 1 1/2 cups pulp-free orange juice for the brandy and rum.
Combine eggnog, brandy, rum, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir well. Cover and chill several hours. Serve in small, elegant glasses and garnish each one with ground nutmeg or crushed gingersnaps.
