Spicy Bacon Grilled Cheese Explosion

This grilled cheese is a spicy, tangy explosion of flavor. 

Ingredients

2 slices sourdough bread
Organic Valley Butter
2 slices Organic Valley American Cheese Singles
small Granny Smith apple, sliced thin
small red onion, sliced thin
Fresh basil leaves
1 slice Organic Prairie sliced chicken breast
1 strip Organic Prairie bacon, cooked crispy
Wasabi mayonnaise
Dash Simply Organic cayenne pepper

Directions

Butter one side of each slice of bread and place on griddle or Panini press, buttered side down. Spread mayonnaise, and put a slice of cheese on each piece of bread. Sprinkle cayenne on cheese. Place chicken, bacon, onion, apple and basil on one piece of bread. Top with remaining piece. Grill sandwich over medium heat until browned on both sides and cheese is melted. Cut and serve immediately. Remove from griddle or Panini press. Slice in half and enjoy!

This is the better recipe. Love the use of sourdough, red onion and basil leaves. Be careful not to load it up so much that the cheese is no longer the hero in the sandwich. The apple will change the taste and texture. Also, add a jalapeno cheese to it to add some more cheese and spice. This needs work in my opinion but it gets my vote over the others. Wish I would have submitted mine.
