Cranberry Orange Glogg
Star anise, cardamom and cinnamon add spunk to this festive mulled wine. (The spices can be found in bulk at natural foods stores and spice shops). For a non-alcoholic alternative, replace the wine with bottled organic cranberry drink.
Servings: 8
Ingredients:
1 bottle (750 milliliters) cranberry wine or 4 cups bottled cranberry drink
1 1/2 cups Organic Valley Orange Juice
6-8 star anise tips
4 cardamom pods
2 four-inch cinnamon sticks
2 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons dried cranberries
Garnishes: cinnamon sticks and orange slices
Instructions:
Combine cranberry wine (or drink), orange juice, star anise, cardamom, 2 cinnamon sticks, honey and dried cranberries in a large saucepan. Bring to lowest simmer, cover and cook about 5 minutes. Turn off heat and let mixture steep 1 or more hours.
Strain liquid and return it to a saucepan. Reheat the glogg just before serving. Garnish each cupful with a cinnamon stick and an orange slice.

I made this for family last year & it was a big hit! Found the star anise for cheap at a Mexican grocery store in their bulk spices.
