Buttermilk Biscuits with Parmesan and Sage



Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 T sugar

2 tsp baking powder

1/3 tsp salt

10 T Organic Valley European Style Cultured Butter (chilled and cut into pieces)

2/3 cup Organic Valley Cultured Lowfat Buttermilk (chilled)

¾ cup Organic Valley Parmesan or freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese

1 tsp chopped fresh sage 

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375°F. Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into large mixing bowl. Add butter and rub in with fingertips until mixture resembles coarse meal. Gradually add buttermilk, tossing with fork until large moist clumps form. Add parmesan and sage; combine. Gather biscuit dough into a ball and roll out onto a surface dusted generously with flour. Cut into 3-inch rounds & and transfer onto a baking sheet lined with parchment. Bake biscuits until tester inserted into center comes out dry, about 20 minutes (biscuits will be pale). Transfer biscuits to rack and cool to lukewarm.
