Deeply nourishing from the outside in
We believe great food starts outside on pasture where animals graze freely on organic grass the way nature intended. Because that’s the kind of wholesome food that fuels your body. The kind of food you can feel good about loving and sharing with the ones you love. Food that nourishes your mind, body, and soul.

All of our food is produced on farms that use

No antibiotics or artificial growth hormones

No GMOs

No synthetic pesticides and herbicides
But there’s even more behind our label:

We’re the OGs of Organic
Before the USDA created official standards, we were already living by our own. In 1988, the word “organic” wasn’t regulated. It was more of a philosophy than a label. So we set out to make it mean something. Our founding farmers set some of the earliest organic guidelines — ones that helped shape today’s national standards.

USDA Certified Organic
Everything our co-op produces and sells under our Organic Valley® brand is USDA Certified Organic. It isn’t the easiest way to produce food, but we believe it’s the best way. Of course, that doesn’t stop us from exploring new ways to improve upon our time-honored methods.

Protecting Your Food (And Where it Comes From)
Organic Valley is protecting over 1,500 organic farms spanning hundreds of thousands of acres of organic farmland across the country. That’s land that is protected from toxic pesticides and home to countless plants and animals — land that can help reverse the effects of climate change.

We’re a Farmer-Owned Cooperative
The people who milk the cows, tend the land, and care for the animals are the same people who own the cooperative. We’re invested in doing things the right way, not cutting corners for a profit. Our farmers get a fair price for what they produce, animals are treated with care, and you get food that’s organic, not organic-ish.

Our Cows Spend More Time Outside
A lot of dairy cows never see a blade of grass. Because our farms are certified USDA organic, our cows get year-round access to the outdoors when the weather is safe, and spend more than 120 days grazing on pasture each year — feeling sunshine, grazing freely, and producing milk that’s packed with nutrition.

Small Herds. Big Care.
Our average herd size is just 70 cows, which is much smaller than the national herd size average. This means our farmers spend a lot of time tending to and caring for their farms and the life on those farms and can spot subtle changes quickly — like a cow eating less or lagging behind the herd — this helps address potential issues right away.

Our Farmers Start with 4 Simple Ingredients
Fresh air, sunshine, clean water, and soil rich with life. Because when you keep it simple, food tastes simply amazing.
Wholesome Food, Grown as Nature Intended
We’re bringing the farm to you (minus the 4 a.m. wake-up call).
