Since 1988, organic has been at the heart of our cooperative. We’re proud to say that we were the trailblazers, producing organic food even before organic had any sort of certification. During these early days our definition of organic agriculture was born–one we proudly embrace to this day:
Working with nature, not against it. It’s a great philosophy, but we don’t stop there. Our cooperative and our farmers look for ways to go the extra mile and exceed expectations, whether through innovative products or new farming practices. At Organic Valley, our food is produced on small, organic family farms where families care for of the animals and the earth, while meeting or exceeding certified organic requirements as well as our cooperative’s own standards and practices. Everything we do is designed to respect the dignity and interdependence of human, animal, plant, soil, and global life – that’s what we believe is the definition of ethically sourced food that you can feel good about serving to your family.
Today there are over 900 employees and nearly 1,600 family farms working crazy hard at Organic Valley to bring you ethically sourced food grown in harmony with nature. Organic food that makes a difference.
