    Frequently Asked Questions

    What are Organic Valley Stringles?

"Stringles" is the name of Organic Valley's line of organic mozzarella cheese stick snacks. They are a good source of calcium and protein. Stringles are a conveniently packaged, ready-to-go, highly nutritious, portion-controlled snack. Our Stringles cheeses are crafted with microbial, vegetarian enzymes, making them vegetarian cheeses.

Available in 6 oz. bags (6 one-ounce sticks per pkg.)
Also available in 24 oz. bag (24 one-ounce sticks per pkg.)

    What is Mozzarella Cheese?

All varieties of Organic Valley Mozzarella are low-moisture, part-skim mozzarella. This creamy, white cheese has a delicate, milky flavor and smooth elastic texture. To make Organic Valley Mozzarella, we treat the curd with extremely hot water and knead it to strengthen the casein (a milk protein) matrix. This allows mozzarella to flow and gives it its characteristic stretch and stringiness. Our mozzarella is crafted with microbial, vegetarian enzymes, making it a vegetarian cheese.

Available in 8 oz. blocks, 6 oz. shreds in re-sealable pouches, and 1 oz. Low-Moisture Part-Skim Stringles string cheese sticks (6 or 24-one-ounce sticks per pkg.)

What are the health benefits of eating organic cheese?

For individuals and families seeking high nutritional value and reduced risk of exposure to the toxins associated with factory farming practices, organic cheese is a healthy option.

    • The organic milk we use to make our Organic Valley Raw Cheeses comes from pasture-raised cows and is an excellent source of easily absorbed calcium, as well a good source of protein, phosphorus, and riboflavin.
    • Consuming Organic Valley dairy products minimizes your risk of exposure to antibiotics, toxic pesticides, synthetic hormones, and genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
Are Organic Valley pasteurized cheeses made with animal rennet or vegetarian, microbial enzymes?

We use vegetarian, microbial enzymes in most of our cheeses. Vegetarian, microbial enzymes are produced by a controlled fermentation process. An animal-derived lipase enzyme is used in only 1 variety of our cheese: Blue Cheese.
