Frequently Asked Questions

What is Organic Valley cottage cheese?

Organic Valley Cottage Cheese consists of small curds of soft, white cheese that is mixed with cream dressing. The curds are made by adding cultures to pasteurized organic skim milk. Once the cheese forms, it is cooled and cut into smooth, firm curds. The curds are heat-treated and the whey is drained off. The cream dressing is made with cream, salt, and other organic ingredients and mixed into the curds.

The difference between the full fat and low-fat cottage cheeses is in the dressing: The curds are the same for both, but the low-fat variety uses a reduced-fat dressing. Our cottage cheese does not contain animal by-products, making it a vegetarian product. It is certified kosher.

Organic Valley produces lowfat and full fat, small curd, grade A, organic cottage cheese. Organic Valley Cottage Valley is available in 16oz containers.
